Organization: Optibelt Corporation
Position: Technical Sales Manager
If you jump at the opportunity for a sales meeting but hate all the tedious prospecting and admin work, we have the perfect sales role for you!
When you join Optibelt Corporation, you’ll be joining an industry leader in the power transmission belt space. We are a subsidiary of the Arntz Optibelt Group with multiple production facilities across Europe and Asia to support our leading role in markets across the world.
Optibelt products are used where durability and quality are required without making any compromises: from trucks and buses to heavy duty applications like road profilers and tub grinders, agriculture applications like combines and forage harvesters to zero-turn lawnmowers and specialty custom solutions for food, beverage and packaging applications.
No admin work, just sales meetings with eager prospects
Your prime responsibilities — and your key metrics — will be to conduct sales meetings, pursue sales opportunities and close new business at distribution customers. We want you to get in there and promote our solutions to distributors and end users who are eager to hear about how our belt solutions will reduce headaches and improve their bottom line.
On any given day you will:
- Build business relationships with distributors, end users and influencers by advising customers of our products’ features and benefits within your multi-state sales territory.
- Provide your distribution coordinator critical post-meeting data to assist opportunity management.
- From time to time, attend networking events, trade shows and industry exhibitions.
- Provide input into marketing based on customer feedback and your frontline sales experience.
How we help you make the most of your skills:
We’ll support you with a distribution coordinator who plans your calendar and takes care of the administrative work so you can stay focused on your meetings and closing sales opportunities.
As a result, you’ll spend all of your time in the field, performing high-value activities — and no time at all doing administrative work!
Additionally, you’ll have the support and guidance of senior executives who have already proven their mettle performing this business-development role.
What you need to bring to the table:
Above all, you need to be confident and experienced presenting to executives, business owners, distribution salespeople and end user customers like maintenance managers, purchasing agents or engineers. You need to be articulate and be able to navigate conversation with ease. You’ll have previously pitched (and sold) industrial products.
You must have at least 5 years’ experience selling polyurethane timing belts, power transmission v-belts or lightweight conveyor belts to industrial end users and distributors.
Other favourable traits include:
- Ability to travel. You should be prepared to travel up to 60% of the time.
- At least 5 years of sales experience. You love being in the field, and you have a proven knack for closing.
- You have a passion for learning about products, can quickly grasp new concepts and then articulate them perfectly to prospects.
- Organizational skills. There’s a difference between saying you’re organized and actually being organized.
- Understanding of sales and marketing concepts. Your feedback about our promotions will be helpful in tailoring offers to customers (both new and existing).
- You have MS Office and CRM experience. We use SugarCRM.
- The ability to work independently and complete projects on time.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- A college degree – Business, Engineering or Engineering Technology would be the most beneficial
